Its Youth Policy Plan for 2025\u20132028 reflects insights from local youth and emphasises the importance of both formal and non-formal learning environments.

Participants envisioned a dual trajectory for education: increased digital access and remote learning on one hand, and declining local opportunities for engaging in informal education on the other. They anticipate more electronic materials, frequent curriculum changes, and the integration of AI into learning.

However, they also expressed concern over the current lack of teachers, especially in rural areas, which limits access to diverse subjects and extracurricular activities. For example, without a tennis instructor in Madona, youth must travel to larger cities \u2014 posing financial and logistical challenges.

Formal education is seen as increasingly remote and standardised, while non-formal education \u2014 such as sports, arts, and youth-led initiatives \u2014is at risk due to demographic decline and limited resources.

Although digital tools may enhance learning and accessibility, participants warned of emotional and social drawbacks, including reduced connectedness and mental health risks.

To pursue further education, many youth feel compelled to leave Madona, facing financial strain and separation from family. Yet some expressed a desire to return, provided there are meaningful job and learning opportunities.

The workshop underscored the need for targeted youth policies that support both formal and non-formal education, mobility, and emotional ties to place. It highlighted the importance of maintaining spaces for creativity and connection, and the value of youth-centred approaches in shaping inclusive, future-ready educational ecosystems in rural Latvia.\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":101,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"pagelayer_contact_templates":[],"_pagelayer_content":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-110","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/110","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=110"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/110\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":253,"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/110\/revisions\/253"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/101"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/euryo.org\/fyir\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=110"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
